It's a modest hotel with the basics, but I had to wait to shower because there was a problem with the hot water. A couple of tour buses also stopped at the restaurant. And thinking about it, the breakfast was really bad.
Even though I'd booked and paid ahead, they called to say there was no room for me. The service was zero. There weren't even basic things like tissues, a telephone, toothpaste, or a toothbrush. It was noisy too, and the receptionist was so rude he swore at me. I really don't recommend it.
The guys at reception were good people, and the breakfast was very good too. But the quality in real life didn't match the pictures. Also, the bathrooms didn't have taps that let you mix hot and cold water.
I called well ahead on March 15 to reserve three double rooms for my arrival and spoke with Dildora, who assured me the booking was made. Then on April 2, just a couple of days before the visit to Shahrisabz, I called to check that it was still active. Dildora had cancelled the reservation, which we'd made nearly three weeks earlier, and given the rooms to other people. That's terrible and really unprofessional. How can the hotel administration cancel an existing booking and accept other guests instead? That's what Uzbek style hospitality means, apparently.
As a non-Uzbekistan national, I was charged a higher amount, but the standards and service were zero. I spent the whole night struggling with mosquitoes, and the internet or Wi-Fi was absolutely weak and horrible. The buffet breakfast was just a few things.
