Aura Hotel

When we asked for a room, the staff quoted us a higher price, apparently hoping we'd go away. We agreed, but then they said the room wouldn't be ready or available until exactly when we had said we'd check out. It felt like they were lying to get rid of us. Rude, clueless, biased and unprofessional staff.

WiFi cuts out sometimes, and having a router in each room doesn't help when some of them don't work. The rooms in the middle of the floor are awful because of the ventilation noise. Sound insulation is basically nonexistent, which is especially rough with the many guests from China. It seems three of the five floors are reserved just for them. The TV is in Chinese with no way to change it, and signs around the hotel have Chinese translations too. The furnishings look new but feel cheap and unreliable, perhaps Chinese as well. The fridge and air conditioning stop working if the key isn't in its slot, so you have to leave it in the room and ask staff to let you back in each time. For some reason they won't give you a second key. And even a "Don't disturb" sign doesn't stop cleaners from coming in unexpectedly.

I booked three nights but left after one. The room was filthy, the fridge was unplugged, and I couldn't find a socket to connect it. Customer service never showed up when I called. There were no tissues, just toilet paper in their place.

The rooms are spacious, and I really liked mine.
