The courtyard pool was my favorite part. It’s small, but a welcome place to cool off after a hot day in Tashkent, and the tiled edge and towel rail make the space feel lively in the evening. The outdoor lights add to the calm, homey feel at night. The building has two floors, big windows, and plenty of character. It feels more like a traditional Uzbek home than a typical hostel. Inside, the shared areas make it easy to meet other travelers, and there’s a kitchen for tea or a quick meal. The dorms are simple and clean, and the atmosphere is friendly, with people chatting about their travels around Uzbekistan. It’s quiet and feels safe and tucked away. After exploring the city, coming back to relax by the pool felt a bit like returning to a local’s home.

The bed was comfortable, the hostel is warm, well located, and easy to get around from, and there are two adorable cats. I’ve liked this place enough to recommend it to people in my network and bring friends here. I came back for a second stay because I can cook here and everything is close by, not just because it’s affordable. But the staff behavior has made both visits difficult. On my first stay, a tall, slim, Caucasian male receptionist was rude. This time, the room and bed I had booked were given to someone else because, I was told, a group needed the whole room. I accepted that. The bigger problem came when my cousin and I were cooking. The older local woman who works as a maid reminded us to clean the kitchen again and again, five times in all. She kept coming over while we were still eating and using our plates and cutlery, and checked on us every couple of minutes. I asked the chubby white receptionist to explain that we understood and would clean once we’d finished. She walked away muttering. The repeated reminders felt like nitpicking and throwing her weight around. The kitchen was already clean, and the CCTV can be checked for January 1, around 3-4 p.m. local time. My issue is with staff training and how guests, including foreigners, are treated. If the people running the hostel make it uncomfortable, I can’t enjoy staying or recommend it again. Please don’t remove reviews that describe dissatisfaction with staff behavior. One of mine was already deleted last October 2025, or so I believe.

The rooms are spacious, and the kitchen has a stove. There’s a convenience store and metro station nearby. I felt good leaving my motorcycle in the secure parking after a long ride. Bring a sleep mask, though, since some beds don’t have shades.

The lockers are large and come with keys, so there’s no need to bring a padlock. Loaner slippers, a reception desk open around the clock, and card payments were all convenient. The main frustration was sharing just one toilet per floor. My room had eight people, and there were four rooms upstairs, so waits could get long, especially at busy times. The air conditioning was weak, the room door was hard to close properly, and there were very few outlets, none beside the beds. The mattresses weren’t very comfortable either, since I could feel the springs. Some guests talked loudly at night or played videos without headphones. That can happen anywhere, but staff didn’t step in. I’d still recommend the hostel, though several things could be improved.

I only stayed a short time, but it was great. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff really friendly. I left my phone in a taxi, and they did everything they could to help me get it back. Amazing service.
