Hamilton Hotel

Reception was a bright spot: the English-speaking staff were super welcoming and nice. The rooms were not bad, though the bathrooms need renewal and the showers could be better. The hotel has potential, but the breakfast was close to poor and at times terrible. The whole breakfast setup needs a lot of improvement.

Abduloh at reception was really kind and helpful. They were out of standard rooms, and Agoda hadn’t told me, but he didn’t send me off to cancel and find somewhere else. Instead, he upgraded me to a luxury room at no charge, which was very generous. He checked whether I needed anything else, too. Thanks 👍

The hotel seemed new, though the rooms varied in their beds, mattresses, and design. They had tiny bathrooms, with no water or coffee facilities in the rooms. We could hear the water pump every few seconds when someone used water, and phone conversations upstairs sounded like they were right beside the bed. We were sent here by taxi from Praga Hotel with another couple because of an overbooking. Hamilton Hotel seemed unaware of us; after several calls, they said they had just one room. We were hoping to sleep from 8pm to 1am between our train and flight, so we took it, but it was a twin room with mattresses like the ones at a yurt camp and no toilet paper. We lost precious sleep sorting this out. After our tour operator spoke with the hotel, another room “suddenly” became available. It had a double bed, a tolerable mattress, and at least some toilet paper, but getting it took another half hour of sleep. The receptionist was supportive in the end, despite what felt like dishonesty about the rooms.

I only stayed one night, but found the hotel clean, with what seemed like new rooms. The bed was comfortable and I fell asleep right away. The staff were all friendly and kind, and each spoke at least a little English. One person even chatted with me while checking me in. I’d stay here again. I don’t really understand the bad reviews.
