Papillon Hotel

I left on the second day and found somewhere much more decent in the area. I paid what I owed, but they couldn’t use the credit card machine, so I had to pay cash. Stay away. This was my worst experience. My room smelled of cigarettes, and people smoked and chatted outside it at night. The receptionist never greeted me, breakfast was really poor, nobody spoke English, and the cleaner never came. When I tried to enter my room on day two, they insisted I prepay for all five scheduled days.

The staff were very friendly, and the rooms looked refurbished, but they weren’t very clean. Breakfast was basic, with instant coffee made when you asked for it. On my last night, the owners had a birthday party on a weeknight, with very loud speakers going late. When I asked when it would finish, they kept saying “now,” until they finally admitted it was the owner’s birthday and they couldn’t stop it. Absolutely shocking.

Very bad service and rude staff. No need to go. Try archers hotel nearby, or evropa hotel if you have money. There’s a small grocery shop there, and I’m friends with Feroz, his brother and their cute mother. You can buy food and drinks there 7/24 when they’re available. Very nice!

The friendly, helpful staff are the main reason I highly recommend this family-run hotel. It’s safe, the rooms are clean, the Wi-Fi is great, and the Samson in the morning is good.
