South Hotel Tashkent

Breakfast was really good, especially the sweets, and the workers were always busy, like bees collecting honey. When I arrived, receptionist Aziz was so kind and helped pleasantly whenever I needed anything. GREAT THANKS to him. Samoiddin even insisted on carrying my bag up to my third-floor room, though I could have managed it myself. For what you pay, this is a wonderful, very clean hotel with wonderful people. Thanks so much, South Hotel. I'll come back next year. And to people complaining, please be fair in your rating. If this place or somewhere similar doesn't suit you, I suggest going to Hilton.

The room was clean and roomy, and the hotel felt recently renovated. Breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful and friendly. It's about a seven-minute walk from the train station.

The location is in an industrial area with nothing around. The nearest coffee shop or store is about 5 km away. Breakfast was okay, but cold, with no heating. The only coffee was 3-in-1, already sweetened, and loud music in the morning was disturbing. They didn't give me the immigration registration document when I left, even though it's required by law for some nationalities. The staff treated me terribly. At departure I came back to call the police, but nobody there could attend in English, so I just left. There is no lift, even for a disabled guest. They assigned me a room on the third floor and said rooms are assigned on arrival, so they don't have to honor booking requests. There was no hot water all night. The next day, they blocked my phone number so I couldn't call them. This is a disgusting scam of a hotel, listed as 5-star on booking even though it has no category license, not even 3-star.

I had eight flies in the room the whole time, and there were no tissues or slippers. The hotel has no elevator, so expect to carry your luggage up the stairs. The one good thing was the staff and their hospitality. I stayed just the last night to be near the airport, but it was hard to find restaurants nearby.
