Admiral (Admiral)

We had a great time at Hotel Admiral, helped along by the staff, especially Begzod at reception, who arranged a car and driver for our trip to the sights outside town. The 80 km outing took five hours and cost 300,000 so'm for three of us. Since we'd already researched where we wanted to go, having a driver take us around was a time saver before the afternoon heat set in. The Archaeological Museum and Clock Tower are easy to see on foot, but most historic sites are farther out. The room was comfortable, clean, air-conditioned and had a fridge and “Smart” TV. The pictures on Booking.com matched what we found. In the mid-30s heat, the pool was especially welcome. We also liked the shaded social area under the trees for relaxing after sightseeing. Reception sold cold drinks around the clock, and we were able to keep beer, wine and juice from the local shop in our fridge and have them outside our room. Breakfast, served 0700-1000, was a generous start to the day. Thanks to Guljahon for the choice of food and for being attentive to special requests. AURORA RESTAURANT is about a five-minute walk down the road, with a big menu and a good Uzbek atmosphere, so we didn't need to head into town to find somewhere to eat. Getting a taxi through YANDEX APP was easy, and the fixed price was given in advance. A ride to the city centre was around 16,000 so'm (£1), so cost wasn't an issue. One thing to know: the website says the railway station is 700 feet (200 metres) away, but that station closed years ago when the “Stans” became independent countries. The line from Termez to Amu Darya in Turkmenistan and on to Ashgabat was closed for lack of demand. The current main station is 7 km north of the hotel. The hotel kindly offers free transfers from the airport and station, which was a nice extra. Hotel Admiral and its friendly, efficient staff made the stay very enjoyable. The rooms were well cared for, and Begzod was a big help throughout.

The staff at admiral really helped me make the most of Termez, and I had a great stay there. I think it's the best place to stay in Termez. Enjoy!

A good place.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Admiral has an old school nautical look and feels like it has some history, which we liked. The lights went out a few times, though that's a Termez thing.
