Beachcombers

We had a really helpful late checkout, too. The staff let us use the facilities after checkout until it was time for our flight, and everyone was friendly. TJ in the bar/restaurant was especially warm and helpful. Our room was 35, with two large beds, a fridge, TV, AC, shower room, and a pleasant terrace. The pool terrace has breathtaking views across the beach to Young Island. From there, it's only a few steps down to the beach. Locals can set you up with a sunbed and umbrella for a few dollars, with cold drinks available too. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel restaurant, though we didn't have lunch or dinner there. There's also a café and shop where you can get takeaway coffee and basics like suncream and toiletries. Such a lovely hotel right by the beach. Thanks to all the staff, we'd happily recommend it.

The restaurant and pool deck both look out over the water, and the room was very nice. I did notice a small leak from the bathroom ceiling, though. The restaurant food was quite good, which is handy since there are very few other options. You can snorkel just off the beach by the rocks on the right. The beach has quite a bit of garbage around it, unfortunately, though that's common across the island.

The pool and easy beach access were the best parts for me. The room was spacious, but dated, and the whole property feels old. The restaurant was the main disappointment. A few menu items weren't available, most of the Greek and other dishes I tried weren't memorable, and there was almost no local food beyond one breakfast item. On an island, you'd expect more effort to use local ingredients and include some local dishes. Fine for two nights or a short visit, but I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay.

We ended up staying four nights after flights were cancelled because of the airspace closure in the Eastern Caribbean. It was a stressful, unplanned extension, but the hotel employees helped us feel comfortable and welcome. They let us extend our rooms as needed and helped us find resources for things we might need. The café was a lovely place to work, with coffee and snacks, and the ocean views were perfect at sunset. We also had some of the best food of our trip at the restaurant. I'd definitely recommend staying here when visiting St.Vincent.
