The private lodge felt like a tucked-away oasis in the jungle, built in a sustainable way and fitting naturally into its lush surroundings. It was a striking mix of high-end comfort and being close to the wild. Waking up to the tepuis, the park’s famous tabletop mountains, and rainforest sounds was magical. The best part was a private trip to Angel Falls. Our guide took us on a trek to the base, where we had a gourmet picnic surrounded by incredible scenery. Later, we spent the evening by the fire with Venezuelan rum, watching the stars in complete quiet. A visit to Venezuela wouldn’t feel complete without getting out into the wilderness, and this stay in Canaima National Park gave me a rare chance to enjoy nature in real comfort. A special blend of luxury and the outdoors.

The view was nice, and getting to the airport was easy. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were spotless. They even had toilet paper! I’d stay there again.

The food is good, and the pool area is still beautiful. It used to be one of the best hotels in Caracas, and it still has great amenities, although some are starting to look old. A bit of renovation could bring it back to what it was.

The view of the city is still the hotel’s best feature. It remains luxurious, but it feels dated. Once the most important hotel in Caracas, it has also been affected by the Venezuelan crisis, especially the small businesses that used to serve its guests.
