Hotel Alto Mar

The terrace restaurant was lovely, and the service was really good. We also appreciated the free airport pickup and drop-off. But the room my partner booked for the three of us, him, his son, and me, was very disappointing. There wasn’t a window at all. The bathroom was dirty, the shower water was scalding hot, and the water wasn’t draining.

The restaurant and its staff really made the stay worthwhile. The food was amazing, and the team there was top notch, super friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located near the international airport. Rooms are a bit small, but comfortable enough for a quick layover.

On December 21, 2019, I updated this review after a problem with the restaurant bill. The menu didn’t say that taxes and service were extra, but they added both when I asked to pay for my food. I felt that was cheating. It was my last time eating there. The owner said I was frustrated, but he should be honest and tell customers the real prices. I hope this review helps him change his mind about cheating customers. The hotel itself is good, with a nice view, though the rooms are smaller than those in the same category and the window design is odd. The bathroom and towels are okay. There’s no breakfast, but there is a good restaurant in the building. The transfer from the hotel to the airport is free, and the van has no air conditioning, though the ride only takes a few minutes.

The hotel and restaurant are both new and well cared for. We got good support and were looked after well. The restaurant has a generator, so the lights and fans kept working when local power went out. We experienced the shortages while staying there, so that was very useful. Airport pickup is included, and the price is fair. Good and cheap enough for travelers.
