Hesperia Isla Margarita

Greetings from Simon and Paulina! We didn’t expect such a warm welcome from the hotel or from Venezuela, but our worries disappeared on the first day. The hotel is a little outdated, though we saw restoration work gradually happening while we were there. Our room was very large, cozy, and comfortable. The food was delicious, with plenty of variety and always a choice of fish or meat. The entertainment was great too. If you’re after a relaxed, classy kind of holiday with light music, good Caribbean cocktails, and conversation, this place fits. Laura (🖤💙🤍) and Rino, I’m so grateful for the animation. Big thanks as well to the bartenders Edith, Manuel y Victor. They made some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, though Edith’s were my favorite. And thank you, Manuel, for helping me find my phone. I’d rate the hotel and its great team 13/15. You made us love Venezuela so much that we’ll definitely return. The only thing that spoiled the impression was the really terrible toilet paper, so I couldn’t give the maximum score.

I had a great time. The food was very good, the hotel was really clean, and I enjoyed live music at night. During the day, there are activities around the pool. I also went for an early morning walk across the golf field, which was a lovely way to start the day. The staff were helpful and well educated, and I highly recommend the hotel.

The staff made us feel very welcome, and being English-speaking wasn’t a problem at all. We stayed five days and still didn’t manage to make full use of all the facilities. The spa looked amazing, and my girlfriend used it and said it really was. We were there during a function with hundreds of motorcyclists. The hotel showed it can handle big events and large crowds without disturbing the peaceful stay of guests who aren’t part of the function. We may well plan a wedding at this venue.

I visited many years ago, when the place was called Isla Bonita. It has since changed its name to Hesperia. It was my first trip of this kind, a perk from work, and it was all-inclusive, so I spent very little money. We took a jeep excursion around the whole island, and it was wonderful to see the flora and fauna everywhere. The people we met were friendly, and the staff were warm and welcoming at the time. I took some great photos and have always thought about returning someday.
