Maria's By the Sea Hotel

Really convenient, and I don't know why we hadn't stayed here before. We were surprised to get a suite, with a nice living room and a very comfortable bedroom. Our view faced the parking lot. There are several good restaurants within a few blocks, and the marina is beautiful. We go to tortola regularly and will stay there again.

The staff were exceptionally pleasant and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. My family and I really enjoyed our time at Mari’s by the Sea. It's a comfortable, welcoming hotel in a handy spot for exploring the area on foot. The offerings may be limited, but having grocery stores, parks, and local attractions close by was very convenient. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tortola.

My king suite was clean and comfortable, with useful amenities like a microwave, mini fridge, safe, lots of hangers, and nice bath products. The oceanfront balcony was huge and peaceful. The air conditioning is excellent, though it runs loud enough that light sleepers might want earplugs. The mattress may feel a little firm to some, but I thought it was perfect. Getting around was easy. The hotel is not too far from the airport and right next to tourist shops, with a few restaurants across the street and a grocery store within walking distance. Pier Park is under a five-minute walk, with taxis, water taxis, ferries, catamarans and boats serving the island and neighboring islands. Cane Garden Bay beach is a short 20-minute drive. There's an onsite National/Enterprise/Alamo rental car counter and free hotel parking if you want to explore on your own. The restaurant serves fresh, quality food that's well prepared. Staff on every shift were excellent, and special thanks to Morley for making me feel welcome. The front desk was wonderful, and housekeeping did an awesome job keeping everything pristine. I'm so glad I chose this hotel!

The room was the one letdown: mine faced town on the third floor, and it was loud on a weekend night. The shower had no hot water at all, so I dunked my hair in the tub for a quick cold wash and sponge-bathed with hot water from the sink. Otherwise, the people were amazing, from the helpful front desk to the charming restaurant waitstaff. They gave me recommendations and helped arrange taxis, and the restaurant food came quickly and was delicious. The location in Road Town is fantastic, three minutes on foot from the ferry terminal I came from STT, with a few restaurants just a stone's throw away. RiteWay is less than a mile away. You can walk there if you like, or a quick taxi costs around $6-10 depending on who you get.
