Cottages by the Sea

The little details made this stay feel special, and the cottages were so comfortable, with good A/C. Right outside, the beach and ocean were absolutely beautiful. We snorkeled and saw sea turtles just outside our room. The kitchen had basics like salt and pepper, and they also provided beach towels, chairs with shade cabanas, snorkel gear, float toys, and books. The staff, especially Hoppy at the front desk, went out of their way to welcome us and make sure we had what we needed. We LOVED our stay!!

Cottages by the Sea gave us easy beachfront access, with lots of chairs and umbrellas. We also appreciated the extras, including bikes to borrow, board games, on-site laundry, and books. The staff were superb. Frederiksted had a nice low-key, local feel, though it was much quieter than Christiansted. We stayed in the Castaway, which was a good size for two adults and one child. There was plenty to like, and everything was clean, but it felt a bit dated and the villa could use some updates.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The place was beautiful and clean, with a homey feel, friendly people, and great service in a private, secure compound. The beach is right there, and it was calm and clear, with great snorkeling along the beachfront and a pier area close by. The kitchen, grill area, beach floats, bikes, and self-service laundry were handy. Bring coins for laundry. Drinking water should be okay, but we preferred buying it, and the first day’s water bottles were free. We got groceries at Main STX super market. Recommended.

This is the most laid-back place I’ve ever stayed. The beach is beautiful and calm, and the cottages are creative and each one is unique. I’ve slept in six of them, and every bed was really comfortable, with lots of different pillows to choose from. The staff are friendly and professional. Once you unpack and settle in, it really feels like home, the kind that’s lived in and loved rather than fussy and pristine.
