The location is great, but the resort was in terrible shape. When we arrived, cabin 3 had already been given to someone else. The bartender called the owner, who found us another place, but it wasn’t the Ocean View unit we’d chosen. There wasn’t a key for the door either. I had to persuade the owner to change the knob so we could lock it. Inside, things were filthy and worn out. The furniture was old, the kitchen table was barely standing, and there was no TV in the bedroom or coffee pot. Kitchen supplies were sparse, we had only two bath towels and no kitchen towels, and the lawn furniture was broken until we asked for replacements. There was no broom, dustpan, or mop. The porch steps were rotted and starting to collapse. On the second day we spotted some of the biggest roaches I’ve ever seen. During a romantic evening, the huge headboard fell onto my head because it wasn’t secured at all. When we lifted it back into place, we found a pillow underneath covered in dead spiders. The pool closed on day two and never reopened. All week, kids ran around without parents, throwing chairs, trash, and other things into the pool and running along the beach. The cleaning person only came Mondays and Fridays, and the office was always closed, so it was hard to get fresh towels. This was nowhere near as nice or clean as the other resorts. These bungalows aren’t worth the price. Beware.

The owner and staff made our first trip to St. Croix a lot more enjoyable. We came hoping for fun, relaxation, and beautiful scenery, and really liked our stay. The bungalow was nice, the views were beautiful, and the sunsets were amazing. We also enjoyed the bar staff and the band. Hope we can return sometime.

The beach was just okay, not the beautiful Caribbean water I’d hoped for, and the whole stay was a huge disappointment. My SO wasn’t happy with the accommodations, and it caused some friction between us. When I tried to explain everything to the owner, he didn’t seem interested once the power was fixed and we finally got hand soap. The soap was watered down so much it was almost like water. The booking process was stressful from the start. The digital registration email had no usable link, just “{{put link here}}.” I couldn’t register, and later saw that my booking could be cancelled if I didn’t. My emails asking for confirmation or a working link went unanswered. I thought I’d need to find somewhere else when I arrived in St. Croix, then got a text confirming the reservation two hours after landing, while I was scrambling to make other plans. Even though I’d booked about a month and a half ahead, they weren’t ready for us. On the first night we were moved several times: first to the wrong room, which wasn’t ready, then to another room that was due to be rented the next day. In another room the AC either didn’t work or was very hard to figure out. We finally stayed in a fourth room despite its problems. Around 10 pm, half the electricity went out, leaving us without lights or a way to charge our phones. The night manager did nothing, and when we suggested waiting in one of the earlier rooms, they were rude and said nothing else was available, though nobody new had arrived. I had to ask the owner the next day to get the power restored. It didn’t seem like the night manager had passed the problem along. There was no hand soap in our room, and I had to ask repeatedly. All the rooms had live and dead roaches. Two rooms had TVs that didn’t work, and in every room several remotes did nothing. Figuring out which ones worked for the TV or fans was a project, since the right remotes weren’t always there. Some light switches did nothing and none were labeled. One shower didn’t work properly because the head wasn’t installed right, so water sprayed from the connection onto the wall. Another room had a broken lock and stayed unlocked. A laminated note in the rooms says they’re renovating and that the prices reflect the resort being under renovation. I paid similar rates at other places on St. Croix, and those were fully functioning resorts. If I’d known the rooms were priced low because of renovations, I wouldn’t have booked here. There are similarly priced options that don’t put you in a room that isn’t ready for guests. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We only visited the beach and didn’t stay in the bungalows, though they looked really cute. The waterfront is fantastic, with great snorkeling and lovely amenities, plus a good bar and parking. I’d definitely consider staying there another time.

The setting is the big draw here: calm bay water, ocean breezes, beach right outside, and sunsets that are hard to beat. It’s a peaceful, casual place and a handy base for exploring St. Croix. We liked the nightly live music, trivia, and karaoke, which gave things a friendly community feel. The staff were helpful and pleasant. It’s a rustic stay, not a luxury resort, and the basic toiletries were in short supply, so bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Some areas could use improvement, but for budget-conscious travelers it’s good value, with beach access, a pool, and kitchenettes in the rooms. A nice choice if you care more about nature, simplicity, and sunset views than fancy amenities.
