Viet Uc Hotel

I was on the 8th floor, where there was no wifi. The room smelled bad, kind of like medicine.

The rooms are a little old, though they were spacious and still fine for us. We stayed a week in the apartment room, which had two TVs and air conditioning in both the main bedroom area and the lounge. Housekeeping came daily, and the woman did a good job. We tried both the buffet and regular breakfasts, and liked them; the lunch specials were great and good value too. The staff were awesome with our 18 month old boy, from the doorman and bar staff to reception, the hostess, and the waitresses in the dining area. Great service, and we'll stay here again when we visit family in Ben Tre.

A riverside hotel in the city center, near the central market. The front hall is nice and the view from here is fantastic. The room is old but clean, the price is reasonable, and the staff are friendly.

The bathroom was a little small for me at 6'2", but it was clean, the shower was nice, and the room itself was air conditioned and very clean. There was a fully stocked minibar and toiletries. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets were soft and nice. Breakfast was included and had a great spread. I also found the rooms excellent for the price, $35USD, which wouldn't get you a rat-trap stateside. The hotel has spa and massage facilities and friendly, helpful staff. The desk staff are VERY busy with guests asking a lot from them, but they're patient and even tempered. I spoke with several different staff members, and they were all kind and patient, though getting an English speaker is a bit of a crapshoot. The hotel is RIGHT on the riverfront, next door to the Ben Tre Museum, and a couple of blocks from the big market in Ben Tre. It's a good, centrally located 3 Star hotel, priced well for what it offers and with a high standard of service. It isn't a 5 star hotel, but those cost a couple hundred USD a night and are usually in the middle of nowhere. It's a significant step above most hotels in smaller areas. I've read some negative feedback, but having stayed there, I'd disregard it. I'd heartily recommend a stay.
