Mansion Park Hotel

We booked during Tet and understand they were short-staffed. The front desk staff were nice, but the service still left us very disappointed. Our room was dusty and clearly hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, as if it had been empty for ages and they hadn't bothered to prepare it for a new guest. We asked to switch rooms and were told to wait 15-20 minutes while they cleaned another one. It was Tet, the hotel was empty, and it seemed like none of the rooms had been cleaned for guests. The toilet was badly designed, with a see-through door. My friend had to avoid walking past it so they wouldn't see me naked. At 9:52 am, a woman in a black uniform stopped us from taking a little cereal for my daughter, saying the buffet was closed. She was trying to assert authority over customers over just a few pieces. Fortunately, another staff member in a green uniform let us take some. Customers, please read this and think twice before booking. You could be treated even worse than we were.

The free breakfast was a nice part of the stay, with plenty of choices and tasty food. The coffee was weak and watery, though, and the machine's six options didn't taste much different from one another. I've stayed here twice while visiting family in Bien Hoa. The location is convenient, service is good, and the rooms are spacious for the low price. The rooms look nice, but their unusual design could be maintained better. Bathroom privacy is lacking, and the shower setup is odd, with a ceiling showerhead directly above another tub-like fixture. Keep the room tidy, too, since ants and possibly roaches may show up if it's messy.

The room we were given was badly stained, with what looked like food or other things thrown across the walls. A cleaner quietly told us a group had trashed it two weeks earlier. It still hadn't been properly cleaned, yet we were checked in. We were exhausted from our flight, so we agreed to stay that first night after the front desk staff said we'd be moved for the remaining two nights. The next morning, we were told there were no rooms available, and that accepting the room meant we had to stay in it. That ruined the rest of our visit. The front desk person was very rude and refused to move us when we first raised the room's condition. Guests deserve basic respect, and this place showed little interest in that or in customer service. Fellow foreign tourists, don't be fooled by the photos. I wouldn't usually spend time writing a review like this, but I want to give this place the bad publicity I can. Please stay away.
