Auroramekong Hotel

It’s quiet here, a little way outside Cai Be, and they lend out bicycles for free. The staff were friendly, but we had an issue with our booking. Agoda had given us a good price for a garden view room, then the hotel tried to charge extra for that room. We stuck to what our booking said and they eventually accepted it. Still, having to argue for something we’d already paid for left a bad feeling. Their low Agoda prices aren’t our fault.

Tamata i20240123 I paid 300K for a room. It isn't a new hotel, but it wasn't bad, and the garden was nice. There was a chair on the terrace where I could sit and look out at it. I'm a bicycle traveler and like to keep accommodation cheap, as long as the room is clean. There was a dog here. Have a nice trip.

The rooms don't match what you see on Booking or Agoda. Then they try to charge double for the room shown in the photos. Most of the rooms seemed to be like that, without a fridge or hot water, and they smelled of cigarettes. It felt like a typical Vietnamese scam.

The reception couldn't speak English, like most people in this region, but they did their best to help with whatever they could. The rooms were clean, and the bicycles were free to use. It's a good base for exploring the Delta on your own.
