The Empyrean Cam Ranh Beach Resort Hotel

For a weekend break, this was a good option. We came from Nha Trang for a 24-hour getaway and found a beautiful, surprisingly quiet resort with white sand. The pools were great, with fresh, cool water, and there was a very long lazy river. Our room was spacious, with a big balcony and a lovely sea view. Definitely recommend getting that view, the ocean and sound of waves were amazing. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choices and a station for freshly cooked egg dishes. Dinner was good too, though the French fries had a strong taste, as if the frying oil was old. The lobby furniture looked old or poorly cared for. One small thing: the beach bar closed at 8:30 pm. It would be nice if it stayed open until 10, since we met people who wanted to sit there after dinner, but the bar area was closed and dark.

The resort looks beautiful, with a huge, well-designed pool, a very clean beach and perfectly fine rooms. It wasn't expensive, and breakfast was very good. The restaurant was decent, with good salad and a beef burger, and there's a fantastic gym. Still, I won't return. I give it four stars for the resort itself. The location is very inconvenient. There's no mart, local restaurant, town or people nearby, so you're completely dependent on the hotel facilities. We even went to the airport to eat and be around people for a change. The few restaurants around are overpriced and not that good. They offer a discount for five-star ratings, so I don't think those reviews are mostly true. There were some room annoyances: the shower water went from hot to mildly warm after two minutes, and opening the balcony door made the wind whistle loudly under the main door, so we had to put a cloth there. Service was friendly but poor. The restaurant got our order wrong several times and brought dishes out slowly, one by one, so one person had finished before another got their food. You aren't even allowed to put your toes in the sea without being yelled at. If you want a relaxing short stay at good value, it may be worth a visit. But if you want local life or easy access to a convenience store, this place is a pain. I found two nights enough. Any longer felt like a drag, with things getting boring quickly. All in all, it's a beautiful resort, just too inconvenient for me. Hope everyone else has a pleasant stay. I won't be back.

The rooms were very basic for the price, and the one restaurant was terrible. There's nothing else nearby, so you're stuck with it. The coffee shop opens whenever it feels like it. From the moment I arrived, the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there, and were unwelcoming and barely helpful. One of the worst places I've stayed in Vietnam. Avoid.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time here. The pool is big and cool, and the place is very clean. The staff were friendly, especially the bartender, HOAI DUC, who kindly made the drink I asked for.
