Miah Boutique Homestay

Please don’t book this place if you’ve found it on booking.com or Agoda. My experience was awful, mostly because of the female receptionist. When I told the hotel about it on Agoda, she answered with rudeness, aggression, and snark. I don’t want to argue with someone like that, but I hope the owner and future customers see my review.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this stay was bad enough that I had to. We booked through booking.com and walked into a dirty room: the bed was only partly made, with hairs and stains; the towels had been used; there were half-full water bottles and rotten bananas left behind. We asked the front desk to clean and change the sheets, then went to lunch. When we got back, the same dirty sheets were still there with hair all over them. We asked again, and when staff came up they insisted the sheets had been changed, even though the same stains and hairs were clearly there. After a long argument, they finally replaced them. Then staff came to our door asking us to delete the booking.com reservation because, they said, the system was overbooked. I suspect they wanted to stop us from leaving a bad review. Even after cleaning, the bathroom had seen better days: mold on the sink and a pretty gross shower faucet. There were no plugs by the bed and no TV on the wall. With an 8.4 star rating on booking, I wouldn’t be surprised if this had happened before.

We arrived pretty late with no booking after a problem with our other hotel room, and they found space for us at a good price. The room was simple, but nice and bright, with large windows. Cleanliness was about 4/5; for the price, I can’t fault the rest.

Booking.com confirmed the reservation, but when you arrive they tell you there are no rooms left.
