Elpis, thank you! The owner speaks good English and pointed us toward nearby restaurants. They cleaned our room every day, so it stayed clean and we had a lovely stay.

The hotel was handy for getting around. Cafés, restaurants, laundry, convenience stores and Hoan Kiem Lake are all within walking distance. If you’re coming from Sapa on G8 or HK buslines, the drop-off is just a two-minute walk away. Grab taxis are easy to get, and there’s a bus stop right across from the hotel. We got fresh towels every day, and they changed the sheets when we asked. They also let us add one more night at a low price since our flight was at midnight.

We slept well in the big, comfortable bed, and the quiet AC was a plus. The room was clean and spacious, with a proper enclosed shower so water didn’t end up all over the bathroom floor. There was even a wall mirror, which seems uncommon in Vietnam. The hotel felt well maintained compared with other budget places in Hanoi and seemed set up with Western guests in mind. Noise in the building was the downside. People shouted at 1am, and guests leaving in the morning talked loudly. Maybe the hotel could have quiet hours from 11pm to 8am.

The room was fairly clean, the beds were great to sleep in, and some basic toiletries were ready when we arrived. Staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. It’s a good option for backpackers wanting a comfortable night in a great Hanoi location, as long as noise doesn’t keep you awake. We heard guests talking and walking in the corridors, and traffic outside came straight through the closed windows, even though our room was on the opposite side of the hotel. Some extra soundproofing might help. The elevator was small and wouldn’t fit two people with backpacks, but that wasn’t a problem for me.

There are only 12 rooms, and ours was spacious and clean. The front desk is staffed around the clock, and the hotel felt worth what we paid. It’s in the Old Quarters, within walking distance of most sights, including the weekend night market and Hoan Kiem Lake. Bus No.86 to the airport stops right outside. Coming from the airport, though, it drops you about 1km away because the street is one-way. I’d recommend the hotel.
