My family booked two rooms, but the air conditioning couldn't cool them properly, and water was leaking around the toilet in one bathroom. We asked to switch rooms and were refused. Staff said we could use the bathroom next door, but demanded an extra 200,000 VND as a tip. The rooms and the staff's attitude made for a terrible stay. Anyone thinking of booking should consider it carefully. Looking through the reviews, it seems others have had very bad experiences too.

An Ngoc Hotel has a new owner, and the rooms are cleaner and smell fresher now. The receptionists were lovely and enthusiastic. If you come to Can Tho, An Ngoc Hotel is worth checking out for a place to rest.

They got the price wrong, and the air conditioning was too hot. I arrived two hours early, but even with plenty of rooms available they wouldn't help me check in before 2 PM and made me pay extra. Booking.com had shown the price including tax. The staff were all playing games.

EXTREMELY BAD. Of all my trips, this was the most "memorable" visit to Can Tho. Our VIP room was damp and stank, worse than the toilet at my hostel in Saigon. The toilet was blocked, and even though I booked a week ahead, the previous guests' hair was still there when I arrived. The water wouldn't drain. Disgusting. We stayed two days and two nights, and there were no guests apart from our group. The motorbike rental was outrageously priced. They charged a full day's rate for just six hours, like making an offering to hungry ghosts. The staff behaved like gangsters. EXTREMELY BAD LUCK.
