Homestay Thanh Hang

We only had one night in Can Tho and were choosing between this place and a bigger traditional hotel. Glad we picked this homestay. It was affordable, high quality, and the staff were very kind, much better value than a tourist hotel. There are lots of places to eat nearby, and the bun rieu in particular looked awesome. Drinking water was available, and both the air con and shower were great. I highly recommend it if you're visiting Can Tho!

My girlfriend and I stayed two nights, and it was a mixed experience. The homestay has been partly renovated, but the room we got was poorly maintained. I'm not usually picky, but there were too many issues for me to leave a positive review. The room was quiet, surfaces were clean, and the TV worked, though only in Vietnamese. The location was good, near cafes, a shopping mall, a supermarket, and the wharf, and an English speaker was available. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi was unreliable for one day, so I had to use my phone as a hotspot. There was no light switch by the bed. The bathroom door only shut if forced, the toilet seat was loose, and we saw lizard and ant-like bugs in the room.

At a modest price, room 303 was cozy, though there are larger rooms. It was quiet enough and had hot water, air-con, a mini-fridge, and a mini-balcony. There's a lift, drinking water in the lobby, and cleaning is available on request. There's also a small desk, though the chair doesn't really fit.

For 230k a night, this was an excellent deal: two double beds, a clean room, good aircon, and Wi-Fi. The shower took a while to heat up. The lady owner was very helpful and made check-in easy, even though we had no booking. The hotel is down Hem 54 alleyway, and there's no lift.
