Magnolia's Can Tho

We spent a few nights at Magnolias Can Tho in May 2026. Check-in is at the cafe desk, which was pleasantly air conditioned. The room was clean and had its own AC, but it only worked while we were inside because all the room power shut off when we took the key card with us. It cooled down quickly once we got back, though. Breakfast was yummy, the staff were friendly, and the place is an easy walk from the market. We’d recommend staying here.

Breakfast was included, with around five choices, mostly noodles or eggs with bread, and the coffee was good. I liked the stay, though a few small things would have made breakfast better. I asked for fresh chili with my noodle soup, which tasted good but looked plain in the photo, and was offered chili salt instead. Chili sauce or ketchup would have gone well with the eggs and bread. The coffee came without a saucer or spoon, so I didn't stir it. There wasn't a spoon unless I used the large one from my noodle bowl. At the bottom of the cup I found a layer of sweet condensed milk.

The young person at reception was really friendly, the one positive part of my stay. I had planned to stay three days, but the room was small and the view from the window was a wall, so I had to leave urgently. I understand the owner didn't want to refund the first night, but I also wasn't refunded for the following night or the three breakfasts I'd paid for.

The location worked really well, with the market a short walk away and lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Breakfast on the rooftop was a lovely start to the day, and the fruit was delicious each morning. Their coffee was honestly some of the best we had in Vietnam. For vegan options, it would be nice to have something extra on the menu, maybe peanut butter and banana or jam. Our room was super clean and had everything we needed. The air conditioning worked well, and daily cleaning was available if we wanted it. The staff were warm and smiley every time we came in, answered all our questions, and even booked our bus at no extra charge. We'd absolutely return to Can Tho.
