Ngoc Hanh Guest House

It was ok.

The rooms were the main problem for me: they seemed very old and dirty, as if they weren’t cleaned often. The hotel itself looks nice from outside and sits right in the city center, so getting around is easy. The Chinese owner was friendly, and they can provide company invoices, which is handy on a business trip. Worth considering the room condition before booking.

The room we got was poor quality, and the toilet was old and run-down. We had agreed on 200,000 VND for a room for two when checking in, but at checkout they added 50,000 VND per day, saying the quoted price covered one person only. I’ve stayed at countless hotels and never run into that kind of extra charge. When I questioned it, the owner got very aggressive. I usually stay at Tina Hotel across the street, where the rooms are much better and they don’t add a charge for two people. I’d tell anyone looking for a hotel to avoid this place.

The Chinese couple running the place are cheerful and easy to talk to. It seems a good fit for business travelers needing an overnight stay, or families who prefer a quiet place without party noise.
