The first thing that happened when I arrived was being told I had to take a covid19 test, even though I had no symptoms and no known contact with anyone who had it. It seemed strange, and I refused at first, but eventually went through with it. The first few days were difficult. There was no fridge and the internet barely worked, though both problems were fixed soon after. I was glad about that, but the service from the two people working there felt really strange, almost like they wanted to make lockdown as hard as possible for me. The other guests ate together, but I wasn't allowed to join them, even though I'm not good at cooking for myself. During the second week, I got sick after a mosquito bite. The boy working there panicked about covid again and accused me of having it because I said I'd been to hospital. I told him I didn't have covid, but he kept questioning me and wouldn't help me find treatment. I went back to the hospital and learned I had tested positive for Dengue. Having that fever was horrible, especially when the staff didn't seem willing to help. I felt like a burden. The female receptionist was rude, though I think that may have been a language barrier and her not understanding me. The boy, though, seemed deliberately rude twice, when I arrived and when he learned I was ill. The mosquitoes and the way I was treated are why I left, even during lockdown. I wouldn't recommend it to English people.
