Winter Spring Homestay Center

We came on a Phuong Trang sleeper bus from Ben Xe Mien Tay (HCMC). It was 165k each, including the transfer to Winterspring. The Autumn room was spacious, clean, and had a small balcony. We got two water bottles a day, and cleaning was available on request. It had shampoo and body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste packets, a comb, hairdryer, fridge, TV (we didn’t use it), desk, chair, and hammock. The aircon took a while to cool the big room. There was also a bath mat, which not every Vietnamese hotel provides. Watch the bathroom door, it can lock from inside. We accidentally shut it and couldn’t open it from outside 😅. There’s a kitchen on level 4 and a free front loader washing machine, but bring your own laundry powder. They can arrange motorbike rental for 140k manual or 160k automatic, but the company they use had none left when we asked. See my review on Can Tho Motorbike Rental, which I found on google. We parked our bike out front during the day, and staff brought it inside the kitchen at night for safekeeping. The door key is on top of the fridge. Sister Trang answered our questions and offered to call and book a Phuong Trang sleeper bus to My Tho. I booked it myself instead. The transfer car picked us up at the hotel and took us to Can Tho bus station. It was 155k per person, including a transfer car to the hotel in My Tho. The Phuong Trang number in Can Tho is 1900 6919, though calls cost 1k a minute. The Futa Express office is also not far from the hotel. Cai Khe market is within walking distance. We had Bo Kho across the road, which was good and cost 35k each. Room photos are on checkout 😅.

The host responded quickly, and the private room was cheap. But I woke in the night feeling something on my back, and found small ants in the bed. Then I spotted a cockroach on the bedroom floor. The bathroom was mouldy and there were holes in the wall, so some renovation would help. The location isn’t the worst, though there are places closer to the city. Despite what reviews said, there are no free bicycles, just motorbikes for 140k dong. They arrange floating market tours, but I felt the price was high for local rates and what you get. The market itself is interesting, while the other activities felt like time-consuming tourist stuff that could be done cheaper on your own. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless you’re really out of other options.

The roadwork outside the house made a poor first impression, with dirt and smoke, and cars seemed to be blocking the side door often. Even so, the location was extremely convenient and the staff were exceptionally friendly. It was peaceful, clean, and private, and for the value I’d say Wtay was worth the money.

Mr Vu arranged a market trip for us at a very good price, and breakfast was great. We could use the kitchen, and the washing machine was much appreciated after so much travel. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The people were wonderful, and they picked us up at the airport and took us to the bus station after our stay. I highly recommend it.
