Dai Loi Hotel

All three rooms had bugs in the beds. The single room still had ants after the sheets were changed, and the other two had small black bugs. We hadn’t opened the balcony door, so those bugs hadn’t come in from outside. Maybe they were from where the sheets are stored, but either way, all eight of us were kicked out the next morning after we asked for the sheets to be changed. They waited until we got back from breakfast, then charged full price for the one night. The stay was really uncomfortable. One of the three rooms had no working A/C, and we got just one fan for the night. In the humid, sticky heat it only moved hot air around. Three elders were sleeping in that room, where wallpaper was peeling and the A/C leaked onto the third bed. There were rust stains on the bathroom floor, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work.

There’s a market within walking distance, and the room was fairly spacious and well furnished, with double beds and lots of TV channels. I had trouble with the shower head. The door uses a regular knob and key, with an extra lock on the inside. It felt about what you’d expect from a three-star hotel, perhaps a little better than most.

The service was really good. It’s near a quiet market, so you can pick up most things you might need.

The staff were polite and nice to us, but the room itself was uncomfortable, dirty, and full of mosquitoes. The beds were hard, the sheets were dirty, the quilt had yellow spots, and the pillow wasn’t good either. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. They make eggs, and there’s white bread, jam, tomatoes, cucumber, chocolate cookies, tea, and coffee on the counter.
