Cồn Phụng Retreats Mekong - Nature Island with Free Boat Shuttle & Fishing

Thanks to Mụi and everyone there for one of our best vacations. I’m writing this two nights after leaving, and you’re all still on our minds. The owner, staff, and even the boat man gave us such a warm feeling and showed the spirit of the Mekong Delta. It’s not really an exciting tourist spot, but we’ll definitely come back because the place stayed with us. If you’re after luxury, high-end fun, excitement, or flashy surroundings, my advice is not to come here. It’s cozy, quiet, and full of emotion, a real place to escape and unwind.

The service was nice, but the place was hard to find. I know I visited during Tet, but 1.6 million per night still felt overpriced, and I expected much better. The room was small, and the whole place shook when we did “free style exercise”. There weren’t any activities, and I wouldn’t come back.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and you can get there by motorbike. From the main road, a staircase with narrow ramps takes you to the island. The property is okay, but it’s showing its age and some areas aren’t being maintained. That’s a shame given its location and potential. The food was alright, though the breakfast made me wonder what I was paying so much for, considering the bungalow price. Compared with other hotels and homestays in the Delta, the price seemed high, and I wasn’t sure why. I hope they can bring the place back to its former glory.

The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, but that couldn’t make up for the rest of the stay. The place was only somewhat clean, the grounds were run-down, and I was wary of walking on some of the planks. There were no bikes to rent at the resort or the nearby hotel. We’d planned to stay three days but left after the first. My T-shirts are now a size smaller than before. I can’t recommend it.
