The staff made this stay for us. Everyone was kind and helpful, and we’ll be back to see them. The hotel is right by the beach, which makes it a great base for exploring the island. It met our expectations, and the photos matched what we found in person. Highly recommend Horizon.

There were five of us in a queen room, and the price was good. It was close to the beach, with plenty of space and two toilets. They cleaned the room each morning.

The location was convenient and the staff were friendly. Room 406 was spacious, with a sea-facing window and a view of the water. But the shower was a real problem. In early March the hot water was scalding, while the cold water came through too weakly, so showering took ages and felt unpleasant. Room 407, which had two large beds for four people and a window, had a similar weak bathroom. For a larger group, expect a long wait to shower. Average stay for me, and I wouldn’t book again.

Ms. Thao arranged everything for us, and the room service was excellent. We stayed at the Horizon for six nights and had no other problems. From there, it was a 15-minute walk to the city center, 20 minutes to the museum and prison, and 25 minutes to the large cemetery. One warning: the monkeys at the lighthouse are aggressive. Somehow they got both scooter storage compartments open and wrecked a backpack 🥴. We’d be happy to come back.
