Tan Son Nhat Con Dao Resort

This place is perfectly charming as it is. The food was good, the beds were comfortable and clean, and the stay was very affordable. Staff were always nice, though I noticed the same people working every day from around 6am to 11pm. They were excellent workers, but everyone needs a break. Maybe it's hard to find people to hire on a small island. If you need specific things, you could pay more somewhere else.

I chose the bungalow for its private beach right outside. It was roomy and had a private terrace, though it could use some general renovation. The lobby doesn't have AC, and there was shampoo and body wash but no hair conditioner.

The peaceful shared spaces, with hammocks and swings, were lovely for relaxing, and breakfast was good. The hotel faces a beautiful sandy beach, which really stands out on Con Dao. Groceries, a pharmacy, the market, and restaurants are just a 1-5 minute drive away. The rooms aren't very soundproof, but guests were generally quiet. In a garden-view villa you might hear some road noise, though it didn't bother me much at night. Good value for money.

For a calm seaside holiday, this was easily our best option on the island. We traveled around Con Dao looking for a comfortable stay with a nice nearby beach and basic amenities close enough. Here, the price-to-quality balance is ideal, and the place is simple, convenient, and comfortable, with everything needed for a good stay. We tried both a regular room and a bungalow, and the bungalow was definitely better. We also stayed at a hotel in the far south. Its rooms were better, but the beach was much worse and it was very far from town. Poulo Condor was very good too, though much more expensive and far from town. I'd still recommend spending 1-2 nights there. If you're staying on the island for 5-7 days, I'd use this hotel as the main base and add a night or two at Poulo Condor for the experience.
