The people running the homestay, along with the staff, were lovely and really keen to help. They were fine with early or late check-in and check-out. There’s a little courtyard with flowers and a swing, a nice spot for tea and a chat in the evening. The wooden place is cozy for the price and well placed near the city center. Right across from it is a noodle shop with pretty good, affordable beef noodle soup served in a stone pot. The basics are covered, with toiletries, a hairdryer, tea, coffee, cups and a kettle. The sink has hot water. A couple of small things in the bathroom were disappointing, the toilet paper and the way the drain is set up. Sound carries a lot too. After 10 PM, people coming back and gathering to eat and drink can be loud, with motorbikes and conversations outside. You can also hear the toilet flushing, so it may be uncomfortable if you’re a light sleeper.

Getting into the homestay by car was a little tricky. You have to go a short way down the slope and turn into the entrance, which is downhill and only wide enough for one car. We arrived around 5 AM for our first homestay stay, but nobody picked up when we called. The gate was open, and the owner of the beef noodle soup stall was bringing supplies to the shop, so we went down ourselves. We called again once inside and still got no answer. The confirmation message showed where our room was, and the key was in the ignition, so we let ourselves in. Afterward, we messaged the homestay on Zalo to say we’d been there a while without hearing back. Later, when a young man passed by, we told him we’d checked in and asked for some extra personal items. The room was clean, the price was fair, and the hours were flexible. The homestay is close to the center, about 1 km from the night market, which is easy to reach on foot. There’s a decent stone-pot beef noodle soup stall right outside. It’s on Nha Chung street, handy if you’re going to Vinaphone Tower.

The room’s furnishings are basic, but they seemed fair for the price. It’s on Nha Chung Street near the well-known Nha Chung banh can stall, and you can get a photo of the Vinaphone tower from the street.

Our single room cost 350k a night. It was a small wooden bungalow-style space, clean and cozy, with simple decor and the basics: bottled water, shampoo, shower gel, towels and a hairdryer. Outside there’s a little seating area for meals or BBQs, plus flowers that guests can use as a photo backdrop. The admin was cheerful and helpful, and Dat, the homestay manager, even helped carry our luggage back. Really great service. The place is on a main road near a school, so there are lots of students and street vendors. Cars can’t get in at lunchtime, 11am-1pm, or when students are leaving in the afternoon. Otherwise it’s convenient for getting around, close to the center and tourist spots. There’s a beef noodle soup stall right outside, handy if you don’t want to go far. The food was tasty, though a bit pricey. I assumed the iced tea was free, but they charged 3k for it. The restaurants I usually go to don’t charge for that.
