Bach Place Dalat

The room itself was lovely, the food we tried was delicious, and the staff were friendly and keen to help. Getting in from the main street means climbing steep, winding stone steps, then there's a very steep metal staircase up to our room. The staff carried our bags, which we would have struggled with otherwise. The hotel menu is limited, and the staff didn't seem to know it well. We ordered the same dish twice, but the second one was completely different and not what the menu described. The hotel isn't near much in Da Lat, though Grab drivers are easy to find, so getting around isn't difficult. Noise from nearby bars was a real downside. There was some awful singing, which I can only hope was karaoke, because otherwise those bands are being paid far too much. We'd been up at 04:00 for a sunrise cloud-hunting tour, so hearing it continue until 22:30 was a lot.

The gardens are spectacular, a lovely spot for a quiet coffee or tea. We also had a fabulous meal in the well-appointed dining room, which even had a Christmas tree. The staff were gracious and very helpful, and spoke very good English. This quaint hotel has a lovely Swiss feel, with nicely furnished rooms and plenty of amenities, including a small fridge. The bed and pillows were comfortable. It's about 30 minutes from the airport, and our taxi cost $17.00 Aus. Downtown is a 20-minute walk. Simply fabulous, we'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

I couldn't get much rest because of the noise. Across the street there's an event venue, although the photos made the property look quiet and peaceful. People cheered and shouted very loudly, sometimes until midnight. I could also hear what sounded like an animal or movement outside the house at night, which disturbed my sleep further. The staff were extremely kind, hospitable, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. Still, with the noise being so constant and excessive, it wasn't a restful visit, and I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

The staff were the best part of our stay at Bach Place Hotel. They were so attentive and kind that they even offered us a 5 p.m. late checkout to help us out. The hotel itself was wonderful too, with charming little villas, comfortable beds, a great breakfast, and amazing coffee. One of my best hotel experiences in years.
