Cherry Luxury Hotel

The room was clean and in good shape, with plenty of sockets and all the basics: TV, safe, hot water, bathroom supplies, hairdryer, kettle, table, and two chairs. There’s no air conditioning, but the room stayed cool in the weather, and they provide a standing fan if you want one. You can ask the receptionist for an iron and ironing board. We were there in early June and didn’t see any mosquitoes. The room didn’t seem run-down either. It may have been refurbished shortly before our visit, but I can’t say for sure. The TV was the main problem. Its screen was so dark we couldn’t watch it, even after trying the picture settings. It had been unplugged when we arrived, and we plugged it in and left it connected, switched off, during the stay. A few times when I was alone and went near it or passed in front, it switched itself on. That didn’t happen when my husband tried to reproduce it, or when we were together or asleep, and it came on at high volume, startling me. At first I thought it was an electrical fault, but after the second and third times, it gave me the creeps. I checked the brand with ChatGPT, which said it didn’t have an automatic turn-on feature. Even if it did, the TV was faulty anyway. For context, we were in a corner room on the third floor of Block B. There was an unused outside patio right against one wall, with a window looking onto the dark patio. We kept the windows locked and curtains closed all day. Everything else was great. 🙂
