For what it costs, this place is excellent. The next cheapest option is a hostel, so I don't understand some of the negative reviews. The breakfast was better than I expected, and the front desk staff know some English. The location is decent, especially since I only need somewhere to sleep and use Grab to get around. They also offer lots of complimentary toiletries, even a razor and cream. Four stars for the price.
For a few nights, this is a solid place to stay. The rooms show a little wear and breakfast is basic, but the rates are very affordable.
The breakfast wasn’t very appetizing, and the room itself was extremely basic. I expected more after seeing the ratings here and on booking, especially for what we paid.
The rooms were good, and I liked being away from the hectic old quarter. Beyond that, there wasn’t much to recommend. Staff seemed inattentive, even when things needed sorting out: cutlery was missing, someone entered rooms despite the do not disturb sign, and tongs dropped on the floor went straight back onto the buffet. They barely seemed willing to talk to guests, as if looking after people was a nuisance. Don’t count on speaking English with them, either. You’ll need Google translate.
Nothing fancy here, just a simple hotel. The staff are helpful, and the beds are good with strong AC. Breakfast could use some attention, like covers to keep flies off the food.
