Dalat Edensee Lake Resort & Spa

Watching peacocks wander around the grounds was one of the most memorable parts of our stay. The views are beautiful, especially with the cherry blossoms in bloom, and the resort is surrounded by lake and forest. Our Jasmine lake view room was lovely and comfortable. Staff were warm and attentive, and breakfast had a delicious range of choices. It's a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy nature. I'd happily come back.

We traveled nearly six hours to Da Lat for a vacation and had already paid for this villa. On arrival, they unexpectedly asked for passports without having properly told us ahead of time. We had three physical passports and digital copies for the others, but they refused to accept those. As foreign travelers, we prefer keeping our passports somewhere safe since losing one abroad is a serious problem. The other three guests couldn't provide physical passports because theirs were with immigration for visa processing. The receptionist told us to cancel and said we'd still get a refund, so we followed that advice. After we cancelled, the hotel refused the refund and we lost almost 32,000 PHP. We waited nearly three hours while they said they were contacting the manager, but nobody came. This was also my sister's birthday trip, and the whole situation ruined it. Poor service and communication, very unprofessional, and a waste of our time, money, and special occasion. I would never recommend this hotel to foreign travelers.

The property and room were excellent, and the staff were professional and very good. The only room issue was dim lighting by the mirror. As a non-veg Indian, I didn't find the breakfast choices very useful, though there was a good variety of items. A free minivan runs to the city center and back at set intervals.

The food was really good, some staff members were friendly, and the location and surroundings are beautiful. Still, this resort feels poorly run and maintained. We booked two rooms in the same category at the same hotel. One was fine, but the other clearly wasn't the category we'd paid for. It had no window, which staff acknowledged in writing, and the AC only reached a cramped corner by the smaller bed, leaving the main area of the big bed without cooling. We hadn't requested a triple room. This room doesn't appear on the hotel's website or Agoda. At reception we complained, and they repeatedly said the hotel was full. We had to show them their own website to prove otherwise. After a lot of discussion they offered a horrible, lower-category room overlooking the parking lot, and again we had to use their website to show it wasn't the same category. They then offered a much nicer room, which we agreed to take, but only afterward asked for an absurd extra charge they'd never mentioned. Another option was a room in a different building that was very dirty, with bird poop everywhere, even in the coffee cup and bed. They said it hadn't been cleaned yet. That's a hygiene and safety issue, not just a cleaning matter, and they didn't seem to understand that. The employee messaging me said the General Manager was coming to handle it. That was another lie, as the receptionist said there was no general manager at the hotel. We ended up staying in a room other than what we'd paid for. It felt like buying business class and being put in economy, with no one caring. The pool was dangerously cold and unheated, with many broken tiles. The sofa beds around it were all broken, the changing room was very dirty, and the garden had rubbish. Outdoor furniture had no cushions or mattresses, and the ones we requested never arrived. In response to the hotel's reply: it's sad they stopped communicating after we reported the problems, that the senior manager vanished after spending an hour with us, and that their customer service involved lies. We had to escalate to Agoda, who acknowledged the issues.
