Dalat Roof Hotel

The front desk staff were calm, professional, and clear when helping us, and the laundry came back clean and smelling nice. A few pieces did go missing, though they weren’t valuable. Washing each guest’s clothes separately might help prevent that. We were concerned when, around 10 a.m. as we were getting ready to leave, two housekeepers opened our door with a key card without knocking or announcing themselves. I went to the door and asked them to wait until we had left. A few seconds later they tried the card again. I repeated the request, and they went away. I told the manager, who sincerely apologized and said they would remind housekeeping of the proper procedures. The room itself was comfortable, and the plumbing and TV worked well. There was only one iron shared between several rooms, so the receptionist told us we’d have to wait until other guests were done. That was inconvenient.

The staff were so welcoming and kind from the moment I arrived, which made me feel at home. The place also feels modern and fresh, with a really cozy bed and a shower that had good pressure and temperature. I had a fantastic, comfortable stay in Da Lat and would gladly come back.

The worst part was how much noise came through the balcony door, which wouldn’t shut tightly. Every morning at exactly 5, a dog in the car repair shop below started barking, and we couldn’t sleep. I’ve attached a video recorded with the door closed. The phone dulls the sound, so it may not seem too loud there, but in person it was very loud. Around 7 the barking stopped, just as the shop opened and we began hearing a saw and metal clattering. You could also hear passersby talking and walking, almost like sleeping outside. I booked a more expensive mountain-view room on Booking, but the balcony actually looked onto the repair shop, where I could watch cars being worked on. After I complained, they moved me to the second floor, but that room didn’t look like the listing photos either. They then offered a lower-category room on the other side of the building that was supposed to be quieter. I packed and came down at the agreed time, only to be told the room wouldn’t be free for another two hours. I had an excursion to go to, so I returned to my room and lost time. There were a lot of organizational problems. The hotel is new and clean, and the air conditioning can heat the room, so it was warm. I think it has potential if it gives more accurate information, trains staff in how to deal with guests, and improves the soundproofing. The staff were rude and didn’t know how to talk to customers.

The rooms look very nice and luxurious. The staff were enthusiastic and the service was good, and the view from up high was beautiful.
