The BnB was clean and spacious, with stunning views in both daylight and at night. There’s another viewpoint just three minutes away where you can see the other side. It’s far from the centre, so you’ll need to call Grab. For breakfast, we tried the nearby restaurant Banh Cuon Ngoc Xuan, and it was delicious!

The view was the standout, and the apartment was just as gorgeous. Tín greeted us at check-in and explained the house rules, which seemed very fair, including leaving shoes on the safe rack outside the room, as is normal in Vietnam. We rented his motorbike for three days at a very good price. He replied quickly to our Airbnb questions and requests, let us leave our bags at his house after checkout, and even brought chairs and water outside while we waited for our taxi at the end of the day. We had an absolutely amazing stay and would highly recommend it to other travellers.

I felt uncomfortable with the many passive-aggressive signs stuck on every surface. They were really off-putting and took away from the apartment’s elegance. The owner also came to tell us off for leaving our shoes by the door inside instead of on the rack outside, then messaged me after checkout to make me feel bad about my booking.com review. We were expected to leave the place spotless, with all dishes washed and towels clean, which seemed strange when hotels usually include cleaning in the price. There was just one fork in the kitchen, a leaking bathroom, a dangerous staircase, flickering bathroom lights, and only one towel size. It was SO cold indoors even though it was hot outside. Stray dogs barked at all hours, too.

I liked the privacy and quiet of this affordable, unusual loft on a peaceful street, though barking strays sometimes interrupted it. It’s not especially close to anything. The studio was clean and well kept, with plenty of room to lounge or get some remote work done. The minibar was fairly priced, and rental bikes were available. A new Airblade for 150k is cheap. I just wish I’d managed to extend my stay.
