The Malibu Hotel

Breakfast was excellent, with food from different countries and enough variety to suit all tastes. Earlier, the pool area had been a pleasant place to sit, with good views of the beach and the city beyond. The check-in was welcoming and efficient, and the room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed, seating area, large bathroom, separate shower room, and huge bathtub. There were a couple of letdowns with drinks. The poolside bar had no draft or cold beer, so I had to take beer with ice. We went back in the evening for cocktails because we enjoy the odd margarita or two, but they were disappointing, too sweet and lacking in taste and alcohol. On Saturday evening, I returned my first cup of coffee because it had a large chip on the inside. The staff member on duty politely apologized and replaced the coffee.

We ended up at The Malibu Hotel after the place we had first booked in Vung Tau turned out to be full of cockroaches and a real letdown. It was right next door, and even late at night the staff arranged rooms for our family of six starting the following day. The difference from our previous accommodation was huge. Once we moved in, the rooms were clean and spacious. The kids enjoyed the pool and playroom, breakfast had enough variety for everyone, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The location near the beach was convenient, and we felt we got very good value for our money. Our stay made the trip much more enjoyable.

The room was spacious and very clean, with a large, comfortable bathtub. Breakfast had a wide variety of choices. I stayed to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks at Back Beach and could see them from my room. The fifth-floor pool was another great viewing spot. Next time I’d like to reserve a seat by the pool.

The buffet breakfast had wonderful options, and service was good, though the staff spoke only a little English. The rooms are large, but there was a bit of mould in the shower. The location is near the beach and where most of the top end hotels are, though it’s a bit of a walk to the main shopping area. I’d stay again, but would wait until more of the new development in vung tau has finished. as its
