Haven in the Pines

We went looking for somewhere we could slow down, and Haven in the Pines was just right. It felt more like a place to enjoy the moment than a typical hotel. The whole setting is cozy and peaceful among the pine trees, with views so beautiful we didn't want to leave. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The staff made it even better. Everyone was kind, responsive, welcoming, and smiling, and we could feel how much they cared about our stay. Thanks for making such a special place. We already know we'll be back 😊

The service was the best part. They were truly attentive, helped us with a hike, and were ready whenever we needed them. This was one of the best hotels by a lake I've stayed in, with a peaceful atmosphere and stunning views of lakes, forest, and mountains. Definitely the best service I've had!

The restaurant food was the low point for me. We waited around 40 to 45 minutes, and when the dishes came, their portions and quality didn't seem worth the price. I understand a resort far from the city has logistical and staffing challenges, but without improvements to the kitchen team or culinary standards, it may be hard to build long-term customer loyalty. Drinks, on the other hand, were good quality and served quickly, and the restaurant team were attentive and knowledgeable about their recommendations. Service was the biggest strength of our holiday stay. The front desk welcomed us warmly and cared for us from check-in to checkout. In particular, Bao and Xuan looked after my family throughout the visit. Their professionalism and attentiveness reminded me of the standards I knew from working in luxury 5-star hotels. They're a real asset to the resort. Staff across the resort were warm and sincere, almost like they were looking after their own family. The property is still quite new and generally well maintained, though a few minor facility issues could be addressed to make the experience smoother. I'd also love to see more activities, such as SUP paddling, horseback riding, or other outdoor options. I think guests would be willing to pay extra for a wider range of leisure activities instead of only mountain hiking. I was also concerned by the restaurant's cleanliness procedures. Dust built up in the room quickly, but daily housekeeping made that acceptable to me. More worrying was seeing restaurant servers clean seat cushions and sweep floors, then go straight back to serving guests. From my hospitality experience, that doesn't seem appropriate for food hygiene and safety. Cleaning should be handled by housekeeping for a more professional, hygienic operation. Seeing service staff do this left me uneasy about hygiene and wondering how many duties they were asked to take on beyond their actual roles. I’m sharing this sincerely because I see real potential here. For now I’m leaving 5 stars so management will take these concerns seriously. If senior management addresses and improves them, I’d be willing to reconsider and update my rating.

The only small snag was that the bath had limited hot water, but that was improved the next day and didn't change our overall impression. This was a fantastic stay, and we'd absolutely come back or recommend it to anyone visiting Da Lat. The staff made a huge difference. They were warm, attentive, and eager to help throughout. They arranged birthday surprises, gave us a bottle of wine, upgraded our room, and kept checking that we were comfortable. They also helped us plan activities, suggesting boating, horseback riding, and hiking, showing us trails and giving us a thermos of water for our walks. They helped arrange taxis and activities, and the general manager personally asked us for feedback and showed real care about our experience. The setting was stunning and peaceful, surrounded by nature with beautiful lake views and fresh air. It was a place where we could slow down and relax, and one of our best service experiences in Vietnam.
