Lunch was just okay. The beef macaroni was a little too salty and needed pepper, while the noodle soup was made with instant noodles that were hard and really bad.

There’s a spacious yard, and hot water comes through quickly. The room itself is old and lets in noise, and there’s no drinking water. If you need somewhere quiet, this probably won’t suit you.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and I got a very good price through Agoda. The rooms are roomy and, though dated, clean and orderly. Hot water is strong and heats up fast. There are pretty trees and flowers nearby, plus plenty of restaurants and cafes. They don’t provide free drinking water each day. But this place only works if you’re a very heavy sleeper. The connected single wooden rooms have no soundproofing at all. The hotel mainly runs a restaurant for group tours, and it gets very loud when groups arrive. Staff also argue and shout around those times. On my final night, a family party at the house behind the hotel kept me awake until after 2 AM. I liked the rooms and scenery, but I wouldn’t come back if I needed to get proper rest.

The service was warm and enthusiastic, and the room was clean and nice.
