Nha Da Lat

The hosts were the worst I’ve ever come across at a homestay. It was a horrible place to stay, especially with so many other lovely homestays around. Don’t choose this one.

I had a comfortable, airy room with a beautiful view, and it felt really relaxing. The owner was lovely and enthusiastic, and helped me check in early. Thanks! I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Da Lat.

I rarely leave a bad review, but this stay was truly awful and bore little resemblance to the Airbnb listing. The room I got was on the rooftop floor. Some parts had a very high ceiling, but others were so low that I kept hitting my head. I had to squat to get things from the wardrobe, and standing back up almost guaranteed another bump. I’m an online teacher and need a wired internet connection. Before booking, I asked whether I could bring a network cable and plug it into the modem. The host said yes, but after I moved in, I was told I’d have to pay the internet company myself for a wired plan. The listing also said guests could use a washing machine, but there wasn’t one when I arrived. The host offered to do my laundry instead, for 250,000 VND per load. I’d also asked about a refrigerator before check-in and was told there was one. There wasn’t. After I complained, the host promised to bring one within two days, but that didn’t happen. Only after I reported the issue to Airbnb was a fridge placed in the shared area on the second floor. The shared kitchen is up on the fourth-floor rooftop. There was trouble with the motorbike rental too. After I rented one from the host, I was told it had to be parked inside, but the space was so tight that getting the bike in or out was difficult. When I said I’d rather cancel and rent elsewhere, the host finally let me park it outside and gave me a large lock. At first, I was even told I’d have to pay extra for them to watch it if I left it outside.

The staff were so enthusiastic, and I’ll definitely visit again. I felt right at home in the clean, airy rooms, which were well equipped. I really liked the place.
