Thuy Hien Hotel

I paid in full when I booked a room for February 20-22, a week ahead. On February 17, the hotel called to say they were fully booked and offered a refund, then told me how to request it. I followed the steps exactly, but my money still hasn't come back. Customer service told me the hotel doesn't provide refunds. If you're booking this place through an app, don't rush into paying a deposit like I did.

This time I was very satisfied. I arrived early in the morning, and although the young receptionist was asleep, they were still very enthusiastic about helping guests as soon as they arrived. The price was reasonable and the hotel is close to the city center. It seems the ownership changed recently, because the rooms were cleaner and nicer.

The room had three beds and the basics, including hot water, a hairdryer, a fridge, and bottled water. We were traveling as a family and didn't pay, so I can't say what the price was. We arrived around 9 pm and, despite having called ahead and confirmed, the staff said there weren't enough rooms for us. They said we'd have to stay cramped until other guests checked out the next day, even though the owner had told us there was a room. The room was pretty dirty, with dust and hair in the corners, and there were cockroaches. The bedsheets were dirty too, and it took three or four requests before anyone changed them. It's near the market, so you can walk there, though coming back is tiring because it's uphill. In the morning there are lots of breakfast places and cafes to choose from, and it's easy to get around.
