The room itself was nice and clean, but we paid an extra 100k per night to get one with a window. The service left us feeling mistrusted. They were hesitant to rent us a scooter, and the one we got was very old, had a broken speed monitor, and lacked the power to carry two people properly. They also wanted to inspect the room before letting us check out. Since they had already charged us 40k for a cup I broke and never replaced, I worried they might come back with another charge. They were fine in the end, but that whole process felt distrustful and like very poor service. I’ve never had a hotel check the room before allowing a guest to leave. We used their laundry too. It was the most expensive we’d had in Vietnam, yet the clothes still had stains on the underwear, though they smelled perfumed. When we pointed this out, they said the clothes had gone through the machine twice, then began sorting through everything to rewash only the stained pieces, as if dirty clothes always show stains. One day they skipped cleaning our room, saying staff were too busy even though the hotel was half empty. They promised to do it the next day, but nobody came. The room was still good, so the stay wasn’t all bad, but the rating at the time didn’t reflect what I felt was pretty poor service.
