Anantara Hoi An Resort

This was my third visit, and somehow the hotel keeps getting better. The warm service makes it feel like home, and it’s great value for what you get. You can walk to the old town and markets, or take one of the free bikes and explore farther. The pool is lovely, and breakfast and coffee are the best I’ve had in Vietnam. Don’t skip the Vietnamese omelette. My riverview suite was beautifully decorated and had everything I needed, right down to a yoga mat. It’s my favorite hotel in the world.

We loved being right by the river, surrounded by such lovely grounds, and the rooms were fabulous. Breakfast had loads of choice, and the foot massage was amazing. I’d never had one before, and my feet felt so good afterwards. The staff were helpful and kind, even sharing tips for local tailors who don’t inflate prices for tourists. We didn’t visit any this time because our suitcase was already too full. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

Our room was gorgeous and comfortable, and I appreciated the effort to cut down on single-use plastic, with things like bamboo toothbrushes and razors. The food was delicious, too. Breakfast was a fantastic spread, and I’d be surprised if you couldn’t find something in the buffet. If not, I suspect they’d make it for you. The service was impeccable, from the welcome tea to the shoulder massage when we arrived. And the location is hard to beat, just a short walk from the old town. We loved our stay at the Anantara and are already planning another.

The seating area outside each room is on the main corridor, so it doesn’t feel private at all. The rooms are a bit odd in that respect. The pool was nice, breakfast was lovely, and the staff were friendly. It’s also a great base, close to Hoi An and everything there is to see.
