The staff were accommodating, and it felt like good value for Da Nang. Emo's restaurant is only 10m away, and its tasty local food quickly became my go-to. The room is spacious, with an ocean view, and it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are lots of top restaurants nearby too. It's set up for a longer stay, with a kitchenette and a medium sized fridge/freezer.

The soft pillows and clean sheets made for a comfortable stay, and the beach view was lovely even though the hotel isn't technically beachfront. I accidentally booked a kitchenette room, which turned out to be handy. Breakfast wasn't included, despite my thinking it was, and the rotating menu didn't really suit people with dietary restrictions. The front office offered to get breakfast for me, but I didn't want to put them through the trouble. When I needed an extra day, they kindly adjusted things and moved my luggage.

After six days, I've decided this won't work for the longer stay I had considered, possibly for a few months. A simpler, cheaper hotel I stayed at before was better than this supposedly higher-category place, Animor, even though I'm in an upgraded “Studio” room. The room's size and corner position, with lots of windows, are about the only positives. It's fairly central and close to the sea, which is partly visible from the room, but those advantages are overwhelmed by the dirt, mold, and noise. I can't sleep properly here and will be moving out. From about 5:00-5:30 in the morning, the nearby football field gets loud, and children start playing at 5:30 with lots of shouting. If your windows face the road, you may want to choose somewhere else or bring earplugs, especially if noise bothers you. Beside the hotel there's also what feels like a mini-dump, so the other possible views are that or another building. The building is old despite its fairly modern first impression. There are stains and mold, furniture damaged by smoke and burn marks, and some lights don't work. The bathroom is very dim because its bulb doesn't fully work. Cigarette smoke is extremely strong in my room every day, coming from a neighboring room or below. I reported it at reception yesterday and was told they'd address it, but I woke at 5 a.m. today to children shouting and the room already smelled of cigarettes again. Guests clearly aren't fined for smoking. Given that my own furniture already has nicotine burn marks, there don't seem to be real smoking restrictions. Anyone sensitive to smoke or with allergies should take this seriously, as this hotel isn't an option for them. Management could make this a genuinely good hotel by renovating, removing the mold and stains, improving soundproofing, and replacing the old smoke-damaged furniture. These problems can be fixed. I hope this review helps management and anyone considering a stay.

The location is great: the beach is close, there are lots of places to eat nearby, and the area itself is quieter. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I felt welcome. I got an apartment earlier than expected and asked for a refund for two nights, which they gave me without any issue. Friends also left their luggage in the lobby for half a day, no problem.

The room felt neglected and unhygienic: there was visible mold in the shower, ants on the counters, and a ceiling hole packed with plastic bags and stones. The power setup was inconvenient too. There was only one key for the room and its electricity, so taking it out when leaving also switched off the fridge. The fridge should at least stay powered. I was also troubled by signs that my personal bag had been touched and opened. When I raised this, staff didn't seem to take it seriously and only said, “We will let the cleaners know.” I asked for extra towels because the pillow was too high and was giving me neck pain. They refused without a reasonable explanation and gave me a towel cover instead, which obviously wasn't a substitute. Even after I calmly explained, staff seemed annoyed, dismissive, and unwilling to help. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Guests deserve basic cleanliness, security, and hospitality, and this place failed on those standards.
