Aquarium Villa

The staff were so nice, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the pool was great. It’s a scenic spot to relax outside Hoi An’s noisy center. A taxi takes five minutes to town, or you can borrow bicycles for free. We’d come back anytime.

We had a disappointing stay and didn’t get the deluxe river-view room we booked. The first night we were put on the first floor at the back, with a rock-hard bed, no en-suite, and a view of the car park and neighboring building. The second night was in a garden-view room, which management insisted was actually river-view. There was no river in sight. There were moldy Snickers bars in the minibar. We didn’t eat the spoiled food, though it had been opened, and they tried to charge us for it anyway. We were given inferior rooms and charged full price. Really disappointing.

It was okay, but there were things I didn’t like. The room had lots of flies and mosquitoes, and the bathroom smelled really disgusting. It wasn’t very spacious either. Unlike other places I’ve stayed, there was no buffet breakfast. My wife, child, and I were told breakfast was only for two people, so our child couldn’t have any. So funny.

We checked into this supposedly “peaceful” villa and found a very noisy construction site, with more than 10 workers banging away outside. Construction began at 6am, and we checked out just 10 minutes after going to our room because of the noise. I asked her to update Expedia so people would know it’s a construction site. Fingers crossed we get a refund.
