Amber Bay Hotel & Suites Da Nang

I still like the apartment, even though there are a few things they should improve. The area is quiet and gives easy access to everything, and the room is decorated very nicely. The pillows were much too soft, and the room smelled of cigarettes, so they immediately ran an aromatic oil machine in our apartment. It’s a half wet shower, and the bath towel smelled strongly of cigarettes once.

The location is a big plus: it’s quieter than the beachfront, but we could still walk easily to everything. We also had lovely city and ocean views from our apartment on the 8th floor. It was very clean, with a comfortable couch, a large TV with cable, a washing machine, and great shower pressure. The rooftop pool was lovely, and the front desk team were friendly and quick to reply on WhatsApp. They sorted out problems with the door lock and safe right away. A few practical things caught us out. The kitchen only had a microwave, most cable channels didn’t work, and the gym had no air conditioning. The lift only goes to the 9th floor, so there are two flights of stairs to the pool and gym, plus more stairs at the front entrance and no help with luggage. Sound carries easily, too. We could hear neighbours talking and doors opening and closing. At checkout, housekeeping said a bowl was missing, though it hadn’t been there when we arrived. Taking a dated photo of the room at check-in could avoid confusion. We’d come back for the space, value, and location, but would be ready for a basic kitchen and some noise.

The cleaning ladies did a fantastic job, and the staff were friendly and very professional. We picked this place for the Da Nang marathon and could walk to the start. It’s also near the beach and plenty of nice little cafes. I’ve had great stays at every Da Nang hotel I’ve tried, and this one ranks high for affordability, cleanliness, and good air conditioning. Those things aren’t something to take for granted.

There are lots of restaurants, bars, and spas around the hotel, and the beach is within walking distance. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. We really enjoyed it and would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Danang.
