Awaken Danang Hotel

I was wary after seeing so many reviews mention noise, but I didn't have any trouble with it. Maybe the lower floors would be different. The room was much more spacious than I expected, and the doormen and rooftop restaurant provided good service. It's a new hotel, reasonably priced, with good views and a handy spot next to the beach. Nothing much to complain about.

The hotel sits right by the beach, and the view from our room was beautiful. We stayed six nights. The modern building was very clean and surprisingly quiet, so it was easy to relax. Our room was cleaned daily and the towels were changed each day too. Breakfast was generous, with lots of choices. Most dishes were Asian, but we Europeans found plenty to eat every morning. The staff were all friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful. You can tell they care about guests. We also enjoyed the restaurant on the 25th floor. In the evening the road along the beach looks great with its lights on, and the food was tasty at reasonable prices. They took a small deposit at check-in, which seemed completely normal. At checkout they quickly checked the room and refunded it with no problem since everything was fine. Awaken Hotel was a fantastic place to stay, clean and comfortable, with great staff and an unbeatable location. We'd happily return.

The staff are super nice, but there are actual 5-star hotels in Da Nang with more amenities and better value. Here, almost everything costs extra, including the sauna, and the gym is small. The downstairs coffee ran out of takeaway cups on two days in a row. I'd recommend this place if it were cheaper and listed as 3 or 4 stars, but it definitely isn't a 5-star hotel.

The rooftop restaurant's panoramic view was amazing. You can see all the way from SonTra peninsula to Mykhe beach on one side, and the city with Han river behind it on the other. We also had a memorable dinner at their casa breeze restaurant. The buffet had a wide spread, and the restaurant staff were warm and friendly, with the feel of a business-class hotel. Reception staff were helpful with questions and support, and the pool and gym were in good condition, a nice add-on. We stayed on the 20th floor and had a great ocean view from our balcony, a real treat. Beach access is just across the road, and the hotel is quite close to MyKhe Beach. Most travel operators use it as an accepted pickup point for day trips around Danang. We visited in the first week of Jan, and the weather in Danang was so good, with light occasional drizlle. This was easily the best stay of our whole Vietnam trip. Room, food, staff, location, and facilities all get 5/5. If we visit Danang again, we'll definitely stay in Awaken Danang only.
