Blue S Hotel & Apartment

This is only a review of the dorm. I was checking four hostels as a one-night replacement for another place, and this was clearly the worst of them. They asked for 130-150k VND, which I wouldn’t pay even half for those conditions. It’s in a basement, with no natural light, and didn’t look anything like the photos, which seemed very old. The room was small, with around six beds. The sheets had holes, and I couldn’t tell if they’d been changed. The mattress was awful and easy to push down by hand. The bathroom was the worst I saw that day, more like a storage space for cleaning supplies than a shower. When I arrived, there was one person inside, with used tissues scattered on the floor. Cleaning only started when we came in. The owners need to make substantial improvements and bring the hostel closer to what’s shown on Agoda, Booking, and the other sites.

I’ve traveled around the world and haven’t seen a hostel that went eight days without cleaning the bathroom. There was no toilet paper, no internet, and the place was a horrible basement room. This isn’t a serious place to stay. Don’t go there!

The management were super kind and kept my bags somewhere secure. There are stairs up to the bungalow, though, so if your bags are very heavy and you don’t want to leave them downstairs, it might not suit you. I booked last minute and the bungalows were all they had, but I loved mine. It was great value, cozy, with good Wi-Fi and A/C, and worked perfectly for two nights. The rooftop bungalow felt like my own little terrace, and I could watch the beach waves from up there. Its bathroom was separate and shared with just one other guest.

Nice people and a great spot, just a five-minute walk from the beach. I’m giving four stars because my deposit was returned late and I needed to get to the airport. If you’re renting by the month, clearly tell them what time you need to leave for the airport and I think it’ll be fine.
