Chill Place Hotel

The staff are friendly, and for the price it's not the worst, but the rooms are dirty, the TVs don't work and the sheets have mould. The location is the reason to book here, and the only reason. It's on a good street, so it works for a quick one- or two-night stay in Da Nang. I wouldn't stay any longer.

I expected an affordable stay that matched Agoda's rating, but the hotel's actual condition was far below what the platform showed. To me, it felt more like a 2-star hotel than the quality advertised. When I asked to cancel because of the condition, the room manager refused and verbally threatened to involve the police. Neither the hotel nor the police ever came to sort anything out. It was an intimidating and absurd experience. Agoda's response disappointed me even more. They didn't offer meaningful consumer protection or actively check the hotel's real condition. Instead, I spent a huge amount of time filing complaints, sending materials and following up again and again. They eventually returned the amount as AgodaCash rather than giving me a practical refund, and the AgodaCash was still difficult to use for future bookings. It didn't solve the problem and caused more inconvenience. I'm posting this to warn other travellers to be careful with misleading listings. Check the property's actual condition before booking, and don't rely too much on the platform to protect you if something goes wrong.

The first room I was given was shockingly dirty. The sheets were dirty and clearly used by someone before me. It looked as if staff had just tried to wipe them by hand and put them back instead of changing them. The floor had visible dirt and dust too. After I raised the issue, they moved me to another room, but it wasn't any better. The floor was still unclean, the connecting door let in noise from the family next door, and old, broken, torn furniture had foam coming out of the chairs. There were mosquitoes as well. No cleaning took place during my three days there, even though I called them many times. The common areas seemed neglected too. The elevators were dirty, with hair scattered on the floor. The whole hotel felt unsanitary. Staff behaviour was the worst part. My flight was delayed, so I asked for a late checkout and they agreed to let me stay until 2:00 PM. But just 5-10 minutes later, a staff member knocked aggressively several times and insisted checkout was at 12:00 PM. I said I was brushing my teeth and about to shower, but he told me I had five minutes and had to leave immediately. They wouldn't even let me shower before I left. That kind of rudeness and pressure was unacceptable. I had another booking for the following week, but cancelled it immediately after this stay. I've never had such a bad hotel experience. Chill Palace Hotel was poorly maintained and unhygienic, and the staff showed no basic courtesy or professionalism. If you care about cleanliness and respectful treatment, I strongly advise you not to book it. Paying $10-15 more elsewhere would get you a much cleaner, more comfortable and professional stay.

The rooms are okay, but could use a better clean. They reuse some of the bedding instead of changing it daily, and the floor could be swept more thoroughly. Being close to the beach is a tradeoff.
